Taste of River North is a street festival on Wells Street between Ontario and Chicago avenues, held over a Friday and Saturday in July. Restaurants sample their food from booths along the block. Two stages share the street, a main stage for live bands and a DJ stage. Friday goes from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday starts at 11 a.m. and runs until 10 p.m. A kids zone is open on both days. Saturday opens with a dog parade around the grounds. Check-in is at 11 and results come at 12:15. Registration is $10 a dog. A Friday evening wine tasting is ticketed on its own. Special Events Management produces it.
