Oak Park Farmers' Market
460 Lake St, Oak Park, IL 60302
About this happenin
Every Saturday from late May into November, farmers and food producers from around the Midwest set up in the Pilgrim Church parking lot at 460 Lake Street in Oak Park. Community members started the market in 1976, and the Village's Public Health Department runs it now. It opens at 7 a.m., closes at 1 p.m. and goes ahead rain or shine. Stalls sell vegetables, fruit, flowers, bread, cheese, eggs, meat, honey and wild salmon, and a knife sharpener takes scissors and garden tools too. LINK cards are accepted, and the market matches SNAP dollars with coupons. Pets are not allowed, except trained support animals, and bikes stay outside. Free parking is in the high school garage on Scoville Avenue. Come early for the donuts. A crew gets to Pilgrim Church in the early morning to make old-fashioned cake donuts, local nonprofits help sell them, and they often run out before noon. Local musicians play bluegrass while people eat.
