About this happenin
In Chicago's Lincoln Park and West Loop, Green City Market runs a nonprofit farmers' market at two outdoor sites, 1817 N Clark St and 900 W Monroe St. It is built around Midwest growers who farm sustainably. Dozens of farmers and food producers sell at Lincoln Park, and the stalls carry vegetables, beef, lamb, whitefish, trout, eggs, bread, cheese, honey and apple cider. Lincoln Park opens at 7 a.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays from spring through November. The West Loop opens Saturdays at 8. Both close at 1 p.m. In December the market moves indoors to Avondale and stays there through March. A Link card goes three times as far here, up to $25 a market day, and anything spent past that is doubled. Farmers hand what doesn't sell to food rescue groups. Buses 22, 36, 73 and 151 stop in front of the Lincoln Park market.
