The Chicago Food Truck Festival sets up in the South Loop at 2300 S. Indiana Avenue for a Saturday and Sunday in June, with gourmet food trucks and live music. Alex Blackshire founded it in 2014. The organiser also runs the festival in LaBagh Woods on the North Side, so the site has not always been the same. Admission is free, and food and drinks are bought from the vendors. A VIP ticket adds one free drink at the margarita tent. Gates ran from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. both days in the latest edition. Lawn chairs and strollers are the norm, and the organiser describes the crowd as families and regulars who return every year.
More in June: 21 other Chicago events.
