Virgin Islands National Park covers roughly two-thirds of St. John, wrapping powder-white Caribbean beaches in protected tropical forest just a ferry ride from Cruz Bay. Snorkel the marked underwater trail at Trunk Bay among coral, rays, and sea turtles, or hike the Reef Bay Trail past Taino petroglyphs to sugar-mill ruins. Come early; the small North Shore parking lots fill before noon.
