Ticketed

Kites go up over The Crown Festival Park in Sugar Land on a Saturday in March for the International Art & Kite Festival, which runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The City of Sugar Land puts it on, and it's free and open to the public. Chalk artists compete on the grounds while painters work live in front of whoever stops to watch. Country booths show cultures from around the world. Artisan vendors sell handmade goods from local artists, and a cultural main stage carries performances through the day, with food trucks parked nearby. Younger kids get inflatables and a trackless train. Adults have a beer garden.
More in March: 6 other Houston events.
