About this happenin
The Houston Shakespeare Festival stages two of Shakespeare's plays on alternating nights at Miller Outdoor Theatre in Hermann Park, Houston, over a run of evenings from late July into early August. Every performance is free. The University of Houston has produced the festival since 1975. Sidney Berger, a former director of the university's School of Theatre and Dance, founded it, and students from the school still work beside veteran actors and crew. Curtain is at 8:15 p.m., and a Bard Talk starts at 7:45 p.m. before each show. Free parking near the theatre is in Lots C, D and E. Lot C is the largest, off Hermann Drive, with walkways that lead to the theatre.
More in July: 2 other Houston events.
