About this happenin
Freedom Over Texas is the City of Houston's own Fourth of July, a day of concerts at Eleanor Tinsley Park on Buffalo Bayou that ends with fireworks over the water. About 35,000 people come in an average year, and ABC13 broadcasts it live across Houston. The Mayor's Office of Special Events produces it, and Budweiser has been its sponsor from the start. Tickets are sold at the gates and online through Etix, the park's only authorized seller, and children 12 and under get in free. A kids' zone has games and face painting. Paid parking is in the Hobby Center garage on Bagby Street and the Theater District garages off Rusk.
More in July: 2 other Houston events.
