Lincoln Square Apple Fest
N Lincoln Ave between W Lawrence Ave and W Sunnyside Ave, Chicago, IL 60625
About this happenin
Midwest farms bring fresh-picked apples and cider to North Lincoln Avenue for Apple Fest, a three-day fall festival in Chicago's Lincoln Square, held between Lawrence and Sunnyside avenues in early October. The Lincoln Square Ravenswood Chamber of Commerce has run it for close to four decades. Local restaurants turn the apples into festival dishes, and the drinks are hard and non-alcoholic ciders and seasonal beers. More than 100 vendors set up, with artists and makers alongside the farm stands. Local musicians and DJs play through the weekend, and there are hands-on activities for kids. Recent editions ran from 3 to 7 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Admission is a $5 suggested donation. The money pays for beautification projects in Lincoln Square Ravenswood, and part of it goes to several community nonprofits each year.
More in October: 13 other Chicago events.
