Chinatown Lunar New Year Parade

Chicago's Chinatown Lunar New Year Parade steps off at 1 p.m. at 24th Street and Wentworth Avenue and travels north on Wentworth to a viewing stand at Cermak Road. The Chicago Chinatown Community Foundation holds it on a Sunday shortly after the new year itself. Traditional dragon and lion dancing teams, colorful floats, marching bands and marching groups fill the street. Parking in Chinatown is limited and the streets around the route close for the parade, so the foundation recommends coming by public transportation or ride share.
