The Austin Film Society brings LA's Pan African Film Festival to AFS Cinema for four nights, with Texas premieres, director Q&As, and a free public panel. Now in its fourth Austin year, the series screens Black cinema from across the diaspora. Know before you go: the opening night film screens Thursday at 7 PM, with two Friday shows at 6 and 9 PM and three Saturday shows at 12:30, 4, and 7:30 PM. Sunday's closing panel, Culture Can't Be Automated, starts at 3 PM; it is free but requires advance registration and is not covered by the festival pass. A PAFF pass bundles all six screenings plus the opening reception at 25 percent off, and AFS members save more. Four of the films include live director Q&As.
