At the National Zoo, in Rock Creek Park in Northwest Washington, the pandas share Asia Trail with fishing cats that wade into a pool to hunt. The Asian small-clawed otters on the same trail have a stream with a waterfall. Babies need an entry pass too. A booked pass is good for arrival at any time that day, and a limited number of walk-up passes are available each day at the pedestrian entrances. The zoo is on a hill, and Cleveland Park Metro is the easier half-mile walk in; from Woodley Park-Zoo/Adams Morgan it's uphill.
