The tram at Lovers Key State Park has been discontinued, so you reach the beach on foot or by bike. From parking lot 1 it's 1,000 feet over the Mid-Beach Wood Bridge, or half a mile over the South Beach Concrete Bridge. The park is open from 8 a.m. to sunset and sits on Estero Boulevard, about 10.5 miles west of I-75 exit 116. The concession rents beach chairs and umbrellas, and the ranger station lends beach wheelchairs for free. There are no lifeguards, and pets aren't allowed.
