Barbecue joints from Texas and beyond cook all weekend at the Lone Star Smokeout, a country music and barbecue festival in Parking Lot 10 just outside AT&T Stadium in Arlington. The organisers call it a three-day parking lot party, with country acts on stage each day. A ticket gets you onto the grounds, and the pitmasters sell their dishes separately. Everything is cashless, parking included. Kids 10 and under get in free with a ticketed adult and strollers are fine, but leave folding chairs at home; there is seating on the grounds. It goes ahead rain or shine, and severe weather clears the site. Tickets are mobile only, through SeatGeek, as single-day or three-day passes. The Sunday BBQ Brunch add-on opens the gates early for all-you-can-eat barbecue with a bottomless mimosa and Bloody Mary bar. Lettuce Entertain You runs the festival.
